Osun APC demands arrest over vandalism of K-Rad’s billboards

The All Progressives Congress in Osun State has petitioned the State Commissioner of Police over the alleged vandalism of campaign billboards and posters of its candidate for Osun Central senatorial district in the forthcoming election, Kunle Adegoke, SAN, popularly known as K-Rad.

In a statement issued by its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the party accused supporters of the Accord Party senatorial candidate, Mr. Gani Olaoluwa, also known as Asejere, of defacing and destroying Adegoke’s campaign materials.

The APC alleged that posters and billboards of its candidate erected at strategic locations within Osun Central were either destroyed or had posters of the Accord candidate mischievously superimposed on them.

It described the act as a display of intolerance and extreme bitterness, warning that if left unchecked, it could snowball into full-blown violence ahead of the presidential and National Assembly elections.

The party therefore urged the police commissioner to urgently investigate the matter and arrest and prosecute anyone found culpable.

The APC also called on Olaoluwa to prevail on his supporters to desist from destroying opponents’ materials and embrace issue-based campaigning.

“Political campaigns should be centred on ideas and development plans rather than destruction of opponents’ materials,” the party said.
