The Senate Deputy Minority leader, Lere Oyewumi, has congratulated Prince Tajudeen Olanrewaju, on his approval and emergence as the new Akire of Ikire by the Osun State Government.
The Ikire-born lawmaker who represents Osun West at the Red Chamber, in a statement, described the ascension of the new Akire as a significant milestone in the history of Ikire, reflecting the collective will, unity, and resilience of the people, as well as the commitment of the state government to upholding justice, tradition, and due process.
The Senator extends his profound appreciation to the Osun State Government, the Council of Chiefs, and the five ruling houses of Ikire.
“While congratulating His Royal Majesty, Senator Oyewumi prays that his reign will usher in an era of peace, progress, and unprecedented development in Ikire land.”
He expresses confidence that the new Akire will build on the legacies of his forefathers, fostering unity and strengthening the cultural heritage of the people.
Oyewumi appealed to indigenes and residents of Ikire to rally round the new monarch and offer their full support and cooperation for the growth and prosperity of the town.
