The Aragbiji of Iragbijiland, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, has advocated for stronger collaboration between traditional institutions, government agencies and the private sector to drive Nigeria’s technological development and youth empowerment.
Oba Olabomi made the call during a courtesy visit to the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Board for Technology Incubation, NBTI, Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, at the Board’s Federal Secretariat Office in Abuja.
A statement by the monarch’s press officer, Samson Aderibigbe, noted that Aragbiji, during the visit, commended Dr. Raji’s leadership and vision in advancing technology incubation and creating opportunities for young innovators and entrepreneurs across the country.
“Nigeria’s future competitiveness depends significantly on its ability to identify, nurture and provide the right platforms for the creativity and technological ingenuity of our younger generation,” Oba Olabomi said.
He emphasised that collaboration among traditional rulers, government, the private sector and other stakeholders was critical to building a more innovative and economically productive society.
The monarch also expressed optimism that sustained investment in innovation, skills development and technology-driven entrepreneurship would contribute meaningfully to youth employment and national development.
He noted that the country must continue to create an environment where the ideas of our young people can move from imagination to innovation, and from innovation to solutions that improve lives and strengthen the Nigerian economy.
