The member representing Odo-Otin/Ifelodun/Boripe Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Olusoji Adetunji, has trained 250 farmers in modern cocoa production.
The event was held at Iragbiji town hall, Iragbiji on Saturday, with the beneficiaries drawn from the three local government areas in the constituency.
A post by the lawmaker on his Facebook page, noted that the farmers went through training sessions executed by Corvix Multi-Services Limited in collaboration with the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria.
Adetunji said participants were taken through sessions on cocoa production to international standards, plantation management, profitability strategies, and common pitfalls to avoid in the business.
The lawmaker who was represented at the event by his Personal Assistant, Ahmed Olaniyi, said the programme was designed to equip farmers with modern techniques in cocoa cultivation for increased productivity and maximized profit. He reiterated his commitment to agricultural development and economic empowerment across the constituency.
