National digital economy bill will allow Nigeria realise its full economic potentials – Oyewumi

The Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Senator Oyewumi, has said the proposed National Digital Economy and E-Governance Bill 2025, if passed and implementation is paramount to realizing Nigeria’s full economic potential.

The lawmaker stated this during a one-day retreat in Lagos for the Senate and House of Representative Joint Committees on ICT and Cybersecurity.

According to a statement by thw media unit,
Office of the Senate Deputy Minority Leader, the retreat was to facilitate in-depth discussion and comprehensive analysis of the Bill’s implications, exploring tangible strategies to effectively harness its potential for national development and progress.

The statement noted that Oyewumi while addressing attendees during the programme, underscored the critical role of digital innovation as a primary catalyst for national advancement.

“He emphasized that the successful passage and implementation of the Bill are paramount to realizing Nigeria’s full economic potential.

“He noted that the Bill represents a decisive step towards not only driving significant economic growth and improving the quality of life for the citizens but also in bolstering national security, promoting systemic transparency, and fundamentally broadening the economic landscape,” the statement quoted the Osun West Senator as saying.
