2026: I’m not begging Aregbesola to join ADC – Adeleke replies APC

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, says he was not begging the National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola to join the ADC.

The Governor stated this in response to a statement by the All Progressives Congress earlier on Thursday, where the opposition party slammed him for begging the former governor of the state, despite calling him “the worst governor Osun has ever had” some months ago.

But the spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed, in a statement, said the report of Adeleke begging Aregbesola was false.

Rasheed said the governor is not planning to move to the ADC, urging members of the public to disregard the news.

“Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to the Osun State APC chairman that Governor Ademola Adeleke is negotiating with former Governor Rauf Aregbesola about joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

“The report is false and the entire assertions by the opposition are mere fabrication and fake news.

“Governor Adeleke is not negotiating with former Governor Aregbesola about ADC and the governor is not joining ADC. The members of the public are hereby implored to ignore the fake news from the pit of hell.”
