The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has charged Governor Ademola Adeleke to entrench inclusive governance and ensure no community is left behind.
The monarch gave the charge on Sunday at his palace in Ile-Ife when Governor Adeleke presented his Certificate of Return following his victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
In a statement by the palace’s Senior Media Officer, Sodiq Lawal, the monarch stated that sustainable development must cut across all towns and communities in Osun.
“We want peace in Ife. We thank God that there was no bloodshed in Ife during the governorship election. We don’t want violence again in Osun.
“I trust that you will fulfil all that is necessary for Ife and ensure inclusive governance across the state,” Ooni said.
Governor Adeleke, who was accompanied by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi; Chairman of the Imole Campaign Council, Professor Wale Oladipo; members of the State Executive Council and other stakeholders, described the visit as a thanksgiving.
“I came here to present the Certificate of Return. I feel Baba’s prayers. Immediately after the inauguration, work will start. Osun will move from a civil servant state to an industrial state,” Adeleke said, adding that Ile-Ife had continued to witness transformation under his administration.
