I’ve No Interest In Case Of Assault, Victim Urges Court

 A middle aged woman simply identified as Rukayat Lukman has pleaded with Osogbo Chief Magistrate Court that she is no longer interested in pressing further in the case of assault leveled against one Semiat Azeez.

Semiat Azeez was dragged to the court for allegedly pouring hot water on Rukayat Lukman, a pregnant woman over misunderstanding between them.

Semait Azeez from Alapupu area of Okinni, in Egbedore local government area of Osun State around 8:30pm on November 16, 2018 allegedly poured hot water on Rukayat over misunderstanding between them.

When the matter was reported at police station, Abiodun Fagboyinbo, police prosecutor dragged Semiat Azeez before the court. He told the Magistrate that Azeez committed the act contrary and against the constitution of the land.

When the matter was called, Magistrate, Modupe Awodele condemned the action explaining that the victim could have lost her life in the process.

But the victim, Rukayat Lukman pleaded with Magistrate to pardon Semiat, explaining that she was no longer interested in pressing charges against her.

Magistrate Awodele however ordered the family of the accused to bring her mother to court during the next hearing, explaining that she would only be discharged after her mother’s appearance.

Awodeleadjourned the case till December 21, 2018.
