The Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District, Ademola Adeleke has urged Muslims all over the world to use the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday to re-dedicate themselves to the service of humanity.

In a statement he personally endorsed, Senator Adeleke described the Maulud of the prophet as a period of introspection and prayers for the holy prophet, Muslim Ummah and the entire humanity, reminding all believers that serving humanity and loving one’s neighbours are central messages of the Holy Prophet.

“As we celebrate the Prophet’s birthday, I urge us to put into practice the many admonitions of the Prophet about good neighbourliness, assistance to the poor, alms giving and care for the old and aged. Care for fellow human beings is one of the major conditions in the service of Almighy God.

“Many scholars across the religions even affirm that care for fellow human beings is the highest form of worship. I urge leaders across all facets of our society to pay attention to the needs of the less privileged in the society. Let us jointly build humanity; lets be our brothers keeper”, the Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District noted.

He specifically commended muslim leaders in Osun state for upholding the tenets of Islam and the messages of the Holy Prophet, urging them to continue to pray for peace and collective prosperity of the state.

“I commend our religious leaders for remaining consistent in their quest and prayers for peace, unity and justice in our dear state. Your prayers are invaluable as we look up to Almighty God to decide our fate now and in the hereafter “, Adeleke concluded in the message.
