Adelere Oriolowo, a World Bank Project Coordinator and governorship aspirant on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has assured that he would bank on his experience of donor agencies like the World Bank, Africa Development Bank and the French Development Agency and the Civil Service to build on Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s legacy, if elected governor.
Oriolowo, who is also a retired civil servant and coordinator of the Rural Access and Mobility Project (Osun RAMP), made this pledge in an interactive session with journalists in Osogbo, Osun State capital.
He blamed the nation’s stunted development on lack of continuity of laudable programmes and projects of previous governments at all levels, promising to up the ante of performance of the incumbent, if elected.
“Ours is a mission to run with the vision of the incumbent governor of our state. One of the major problems of development in this clime is lack of continuity of laudable programmes by new governments. My team has made a pledge to take the performance index of Aregbesola to a higher pedestal,” Oriolowo said.
He lauded the completion of projects left behind by the previous administration by the President Muhamadu Buhari in the country and the governor of Osun, arguing that “running a vindictive government is antithetical to natural development.”
Continuing, the Iwo- born technocrat-turned politician added that the youth, women and the elderly would be the center-piece of his administration.
