Commission Recovers N14. 9m From Complainants In Osun

The Public Complaints Commission (PCC) in Osun on Monday said it recovered N14.9 million from 2,060 cases/complaints brought to the commission by complainants in 2017.

Prof. Razaq Abubakre, the Public Complaints Commissioner in the state made the disclosure in a statement in Osogbo on Monday.

Abubakre said that 691 cases of the 2,060 complaints received by the commission in 2017 were successfully resolved.

He said that the amount was recovered from respondents for various complaints at no cost to the complainants in line with the law establishing the PCC.

The commissioner appreciated contributions of the state government in providing an enabling environment for the successful operation of the commission during the year under review.

Abubakre also appreciated all the complainants, respondents, the media and general public for the faith and confidence in the commission as “voiceless person’s court”.

He called on the public to continue to lodge their complaints on administrative or social injustice with the commission through personal visits, letters, emails, telephone calls and the newly introduced text message format.

The commissioner said that with their offices spread across the state, people could visit anyone closest to them to equally lodge their complaints.
