Adeleke: Osun Deputy Governor contradicts APC Chairman

The coroner inquest set up by Governor Rauf Aregbesola to probe the death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke resumed sitting today at the High Court premises in Osogbo.

Giving his account of the event that transpired on the 22nd of April, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Osun West Senatorial District, Mr. Amobi Akintola, said Late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, did not eat any food at the burial of his grandmother, Late Bilikisu Salimonu.

Arriving later, Mrs Titi Laoye-Tomori, the deputy Governor of the State, in an emotionally given testimony, gave detailed account of the events that happened on the said day.

Mrs Tomori, who recanted her last encounter and experience with the Late Senator, described him as someone who was full of life, healthy and agile.

The Deputy Governor, who informed the court that she waived her immunity to be present because of the importance of the case and her belief that the mystery behind the unfortunate death be unravelled.

In her testimony, she said “The late Senator was one of the people that received me at my car when I got there, because of his humility, i decided to sit on his table as against the seat allocated for me.  A woman later brought an uncovered plate of rice, on the plate was fried rice, jollof and white rice with no protein. Senator Adeleke used his spoon to turn the rice around and was a bit hesitant. I suggested they take the food away if he wasn’t interested. He took about 3 fork spoons and the food was taken away.”

The Deputy Governor who didn’t stay long at the programme later left, with the host and Senator Adeleke seeing her off to her vehicle.
