The Governing Council of Fountain University, Osogbo, on Monday, approved the reappointment of Professor Olayinka Ramota Karim as Vice-Chancellor for a second and final term of four years.
A statement by the Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council, Mr Sheriff Adeyemi Adenekan, stated that the reappointment was unanimously approved at the Council’s 67th Meeting.
According to the statement, Prof. Karim’s second term will commence on March 1, 2027 and run until February 28, 2031.
Adenekan said the decision was taken in recognition of the “unprecedented achievements, breakthroughs and laudable initiatives” recorded under her leadership during her first tenure.
Speaking on the development, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr AWA Ibraheem, FCA, commended the Vice-Chancellor for her doggedness, charisma, humility, perseverance and exceptional leadership acumen.
He described Prof. Karim as an energetic, resourceful and goal-oriented leader who has surpassed the targets set before her at the beginning of her first tenure.
The Council noted that the University has witnessed significant transformation under Prof. Karim, who is the first female Vice-Chancellor in the institution’s history.
