2027: Adeleke govt pulls down my banners, spares Accord’s – SDP Senatorial Candidate

The Social Democratic Party, SDP, candidate for Osun Central Senatorial District, Architect Goke Omigbodun, has accused the Osun State Government of selective removal of his campaign banners.

Omigbodun, in a post on Wednesday, appealed to traditional rulers, faith leaders, community elders and residents of the state to call Governor Ademola Adeleke and his agents to order over alleged oppression.

He said he paid the statutory fees to the Osun State O-Signage Agency, and his banners were produced and hung according to approved specifications, but were later pulled down.

The senatorial candidate alleged that while his own banners were removed, oversized banners of the Accord Party were left hanging at the same locations.

“They maliciously removed mine that were made to specification and left their Accord Party ones made twice the size of mine with rough wood, even obstructing traffic by the junction into GRA along Ilobu Road,” he said.

Omigbodun said the incident was one of several oppressive acts against him and his interests which he had endured in silence.

He vowed to soon address a press conference to give a comprehensive account of his ordeal.

“I will soon either address a press conference or issue a comprehensive statement on these matters arising and prior oppressive tendencies I had earlier opted to be quiet about. I’ll be back soon while I seek for justice,” he added.
