There was tension in Iwo, Osun State, following the alleged exhumation and beheading of an 18-year-old lady by suspected ritualists.
The incident occurred around midnight on Monday at Olomo’s Compound, Fesu Area, Iwo.
Sources in the community said the deceased, who was buried on Saturday, October 11, was exhumed by three suspected hoodlums who severed her head and fled.
It was further learnt that one of the suspects was apprehended by members of the community and handed over to the police at the Iwo Divisional Police Headquarters.
The mother of the deceased, Mrs Fausat Olajire, described the act as wicked and called on security agencies to ensure justice is served.
“What those who arrested him told me was that he said he was coming from an herbalist’s house when he carried out the act.
“This is wickedness, and I am urging the government and security agencies to find all the perpetrators and help me retrieve my child’s head,” she said.
