2027: Osun IPAC mobilises residents for PVC collection ahead of general election

The Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Osun State Chapter, has called on all eligible residents of the state who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, to do so ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement on Tuesday by its Chairman, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, the Council said the call became necessary following reports that thousands of PVCs remain uncollected in INEC offices across the 30 Local Government Areas of the state.

Odeyemi noted that every vote will count in the Presidential, National Assembly and State Assembly elections, adding that no eligible voter should miss the opportunity to participate.

He explained that IPAC is committed to deepening democracy and ensuring inclusive participation, stressing that the strength of any democracy is determined by the level of participation of its citizens in the electoral process.

The IPAC chairman disclosed that the Council will collaborate with INEC, the National Orientation Agency and other stakeholders to take the PVC collection campaign to markets, worship centres, tertiary institutions and rural communities across the state.

Odeyemi said, “The PVC is not just a card; it is your power, your right and your voice. Without it, you cannot decide who governs you. We cannot afford to have thousands of our people sit on the fence in an election that will shape the future of our state and our country.”

“We have observed that many PVCs are yet to be collected at the INEC offices. Although some might have lost hope in our democratic process, if we want good governance, we must first collect our PVCs and be ready to vote to change things,” he added.

“We are calling on Osun residents, especially our youths, women and first-time voters, not to wait till the last minute. Go to your Local Government INEC office today, collect your PVC and secure your stake in the 2027 general elections,” Odeyemi stressed.

IPAC urged all registered voters to visit the INEC Local Government offices where they registered to collect their cards, noting that the Commission has made the process easy and stress-free.

It also called on all political parties in the state to mobilise their members and supporters at the grassroots to go and collect their PVCs.
