Spokesperson of the Ademola Adeleke Campaign Council and House of Representatives candidate for Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has called on the lawmaker representing Osun East, Senator Francis Fadahunsi, to publicly apologise to the people of his constituency and the families of those who lost their lives during the last election.
Olajengbesi made the call on Friday in a Facebook post reacting to Senator Fadahunsi’s congratulatory message to Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election.
He commended the Senator for congratulating the Governor, describing it as “the spirit our politics requires after every contest.”
He also urged the Director General of the All Progressives Congress campaign committee, Hon. Wole Oke, to respect the verdict of the people and congratulate the Governor.
Olajengbesi, however, said political reconciliation must include accountability and healing.
“Beyond my personal grievance, I believe Baba should also extend a sincere apology to the people of Osun State, particularly Osun East, and demonstrate genuine empathy towards the families of all those who lost their lives during the election.
“Political reconciliation must also make room for accountability, healing and justice,” he wrote.
