Osun LG chairman commences rehabilitation of Esa-Oke-Imesi Ile road

The Chairman of Obokun East Local Council Development Area, Hon. Owoeye Abiodun, has commenced the rehabilitation of the dilapidated Esa-Oke road, which links Osun border communities, including Imesi-Ile, Ila, and other towns.

The chairman, while speaking with journalists on Wednesday, said he personally funded the project, adding that workers have cleared overgrown weeds, widened critical sections, and filled potholes with granite to improve visibility and access.

“I am undertaking this project with my personal resources because it is the right thing to do. Our farmers deserve a safe route to transport their produce to markets without unnecessary hardship, and we must also reduce the risk of accidents on this road,” Hon. Owoeye stated.

He noted that the road was a death trap with deep potholes, dense vegetation and poor visibility, adding that it caused frequent accidents and delays for farmers moving produce to other states.

Hon. Owoeye said he decided to personally see to the project after several appeals to Governor Ademola Adeleke failed to yield results.

The chairman urged residents to vote for the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Osun, Mr Bola Oyebamiji, in the August 15 election.

“I can assure you that this road is going to be part of the road projects with which AMBO would mark his 100 days in office if you vote him into power,” he declared.
