The Local Council Development Area Chairman for Obokun East Local Government, Mr Owoeye Samuel Abiodun (OSA), has launched the first phase of a free petrol distribution initiative to commercial motorcycle operators across the area.
Owoeye, who is the Director General of the Next Level Progressive Movement flagged off the programme at ZY Global Resources Limited in Esa Oke.
Explaining the motive behind the initiative, Owoeye stated that the programme was conceived as part of strategic efforts by the Next Level Progressive Movement to support both the gubernatorial ambition of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji and the continued leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He also appreciated all individuals and contributors whose support ensured the success of the programme.
The Director General further charged party loyalists to intensify grassroots mobilisation by embarking on door-to-door campaigns and creating widespread awareness ahead of the forthcoming governorship election, stressing the importance of unity and dedication in achieving electoral victory.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Okikiola Tobiloba expressed deep appreciation to Owoeye for the thoughtful intervention, noting that the gesture came at a critical time when commercial transporters, particularly motorcycle riders, are grappling with the rising cost of fuel influenced by global economic tensions.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Obokun Local Government, Mr Maaroof Ogundipe, praised Owoeye Abiodun as a dependable partner in progress, emphasising the readiness of the local government to continue supporting the Next Level Progressive Movement.
Also speaking, the Renewed Hope Ambassador in Obokun Local Government, Amb. Otunba Ajibola Olujobi, urged party members and beneficiaries to remain steadfast in their support for the APC gubernatorial candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), while also reaffirming their commitment to sustaining the presidential mandate.
