The lawmaker representing Ife Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Taofeek Ajilesoro, has presented the new Police Post he personally built at Olasode Street, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The lawmaker in a statement on Thursday, said the Police Post was built as one of his personal projects, based on his campaign promises and community demand, adding that the station would bring security closer to the people and strengthen safety within the community.
Ajilesoro said the official commissioning of the completed police post was delayed due to an agreement he has with the Ife Development Board (IDB), to allow for the completion of an ICT Centre, another key project he facilitated through NASENI.
He added that the ICT Centre would be constructed across all the Local Governments in Ife Federal Constituency.
He said, “Security is not by mouth, it’s by action. That’s why I’m proud to present the new Nigeria Police Post at Olasode street, Ife City/Opa/ Ilesa road, ILE – IFE, Osun State. The station was built and fully funded by me as one of my personal projects, based on our campaign promises and community demand, to bring security closer to the people and strengthen safety within the community.
“Although this project has been completed, the official commissioning was delayed based on an agreement between myself and the Ife Development Board (IDB), to allow for the completion of another key project I facilitated through NASENI, an ICT Centre. IDB advised that the ICT Centre should be constructed beside the Police Post for proper security and sustainability.
“It is important to note that this ICT Centre will be constructed in all the Local Governments of Ife Federal Constituency, as each LG will have its own ICT Centre. Ife North local government has already benefited, now it is Ife East, and by His grace, the others will follow soon. This is about building systems, not just structures — real development that will last.
“No security, no peace. No peace, no progress. These projects are about strengthening community safety, improving response time, and creating an environment where our people can live and do business without fear.
“This is not about promises or noise, it’s about real projects that affect real lives. I remain committed to serving, supporting our security agencies, and delivering development that truly matters.”
