Mr Femi Oyetola, son of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, has donated food items and beverages to 5,000 households in Osun Central senatorial district.

The gesture, according to Oyetola, who is a member of the Board of Directors, Ilerioluwa Development Initiative, was to put a smile on the faces of the less privileged during the festive period.

Speaking during the distribution of the items on Tuesday at the Ilerioluwa campaign office of the Minister in Osogbo, Comrade Kehinde Ayantunji who represented the donor, said the beneficiaries were drawn from the 10 local governments in Osun Central.

Ayantunji, who noted that this was the third edition of the initiative, said the beneficiaries included the aged, People Living with Disabilities, and members of the Christian Association of Nigeria.

According to him, “What we are doing here today is part of the contribution of Femi Oyetola to the project of Ilerioluwa Development Initiative. This is the third edition of this contribution.

“It has become a tradition that every festive period, the organiser always makes households happy in Osun. This year, the organiser has decided to share food items and beverages for 5,000 households selected across the 10 local governments in Osun Central.

“The beneficiaries were selected based on age and condition. We move as far as going to their compounds, churches and mosques. Widows, People with Disabilities and the aged are here. We are also going to reach out to all the orphanage homes in Osun Central to show them love.”
