The Osun State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Adefarasin Adebiyi, has urged residents to prioritize their eye health and take proactive steps to prevent avoidable vision loss.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer, Osun NOA, Bunmi Olaseinde, stated that Adebiyi said people suffered from visual impairment due to poor awareness and late medical attention.
Adebiyi noted that millions of people suffer from preventable or treatable visual impairments such as cataract, glaucoma, refractive errors, and diabetic retinopathy.
The statement urged the public to “Undergo regular eye examinations, eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens, use protective eyewear in work and outdoor environments, and limit screen time and take frequent eye breaks.”
The Agency emphasized that taking “responsibility for our eye health is crucial to national development and individual well-being.”
