The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has lauded President Bola Tinubu over the appointment of a former House of Representatives member, Hon. Rotimi Makinde as the chairman of the Governing Council of the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Kebbi State.
Makinde was until his recent appointment dated August 14 and announced by the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, a member of the Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State.
A statement by the party chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, stated that the redeployment was a deserving one, adding that the citadel of learning would gain immensely from the robust knowledge and experience of the new chairman.
Lawal appreciated President Tinubu for counting the Ile-Ife born politician worthy of the appointment.He affirmed his conviction that the governing council chairman would excel in his new task to the higher institution.
The Osun APC chairman said Hon Makinde is pathologically imbued with the spirits of can-do and optimism which have been guiding him into a success story as an accountant, a businessman, a politician and an actor.
Lawal said, “Let me congratulate my dear brother, Hon Rotimi Makinde, on his new appointment as the chairman of the Governing Council of the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Kebbi State.
“The appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a sign of the recognition of your positive contributions not only to our party but to the current qualitative exemplary political governance pervading the nation through the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President.
“Your ability to excel in your new role is not in doubt and we shall intensify our efforts to help you with prayers to enable you achieve your vision and mission for the higher institution.
“Let me also congratulate the management, staff and students of the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Kebbi State, for having this enigmatic personality in the person of Hon Rotimi Makinde as the new chairman of your governing council as it is the beginning of a rapid transformation of the school to an enviable height”, Lawal stated.
