By Joseph Akanbi

The Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District, Senator Adelere Oriolowo has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s 59th Independence, saying the time is now for the country to be a producing nation.

Senator Oriolowo’s message was contained in an independence day press release signed by him, a copy which was made available to osun.life.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Legislative Compliance, in his message, harped on the need for all Nigerians irrespective of our ethnic, political or religious difference, to cohabit peacefully for the development of the nation.

Oriolowo further said “Examining the 59years of our sovereign existence, we’ve had great moments and we’ve also had our trying times. It is sad to note that we’re not where our founding fathers envisioned when they strived for independence. Nigeria still has a long way to go and I can assure you that better days are ahead and the future looks extremely promising for us.”

“It is also pertinent to focus more on production in the coming years, we must put a final stop to the idea that our country is a consuming nation and a dumping ground for every goods” he said.

The Iwo born politician also promised to do more in assisting youths with production ideas within the Osun West Senatorial District, saying it is the fastest way to turn around the economy, create jobs and make life meaningful for the people.
