The All Progressives Congress in Osun State has moved to withdraw a petition filed before the Election Petition Tribunal challenging the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
It would be recalled that the Tribunal on Monday pasted a notice showing two petitions dated September 5, 2026, purportedly filed by the APC and the PDP, seeking to contest the outcome of the August 15 governorship election.
However, the APC has distanced itself from the petition.
Following the controversy, a notice of motion to withdraw the petition was filed on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, and received at the tribunal secretariat the same day.
The motion listed Governor Adeleke, Accord and INEC as respondents, with Mr Oyebamiji and APC as petitioners.
It seeks an order of the tribunal to allow the petitioners to withdraw the petition based on “DECISION OF PETITIONER.”
