Smartphone: If you don’t want to be played, get it at PLAY

If you can’t provide the services, don’t add it!

There are some things you just cannot afford to take for granted in an organization, lest the organization’s reputation is drowned in shame and inefficiency.  As much as we like to encourage businesses in Osogbo to promote the state’s economy, bringing deceitful companies/organizations to book will never be delayed henceforth. Iwa Omoluabi is our watchword.

Yes, we already have some of them in the state. I know a lot of people in Oshogbo must have fallen victims of these people. Unfortunately, most people just let it go. But it is high time we started rolling out reviews to expose these companies. The people of Oshogbo should not be taken for granted. I am writing this piece to publicize the bad experience I had with PLAY- a new mobile phone dealer in Oshogbo. As it is now, assembling a team of folks with a common cause is not enough to generate value, uphold the cores of the organization and grow her value; instead it is vital to ensure that each worker has a common sense that is being utilized at all time.

At the siesta hour of June 7th, 2019, two of my colleagues and I were at PLAY to purchase a new phone for the office. Of course, we could have got the phone from SLOT but our zeal to help grow new businesses in town made us consider them. Influenced by the plethora banners they had posted on all street lights the previous day, we concluded they were ready to take over the phone-deal business in Osogbo; of which we submitted a proposal to that effect. But right now, it’s not even about what they have to offer us, rather it’s a genuine concern for the people of Osun whose voice of agitation/complaint may not be heard.

As planned, we purchased a brand new Infinix S4 for N49,900. After testing the phone, one of the many ladies that attended to us packed the phone without informing us of any complimentary package that comes with the phone. We bade them goodbye and left with the phone.

Unfortunately, just a few days after purchase, the phone fell, and the screen broke. Without much time lag, I rushed to pick up the phone pack where I had left it. From previous experiences, there is often a warranty covering broken screens of newly purchased phones, and luckily for me, the pack had a screen warranty statement. For those that are lost, Infinix offers to replace your screen if broken in the first 100days after purchase.

At dawn, my colleague and I went back to PLAY to report the broken screen and discuss how it would be fixed. But I was shocked when the sales girl claimed that we could not benefit from the warranty because we were not registered on the platform.

Whose job should that be? A buyer who knows nothing about how the new deal works or the seller who feels too important selecting randomly who will benefit from the package?

Her words became irritating when she finally came out of her hideous shell to explain what happened; in her words, they didn’t tell us about the package because we wore stern looks. To make it worse, she later claimed to have told us about the deal but that we waved it off. I mean, who refuses such offer? – A free deal for that matter.  And since when have stern looks stop people from getting services they paid for? Without mincing words, not only has she proven her faithfulness as questionable and her workmanship tainted, but her level of customer relationship is a hard slap on the company’s face. While we have been robbed of the package due to the lackadaisical, braggadocious and ineffective attitude of the sales girls at PLAY, I would implore INFINIX to look into this case and make sure that such does not happen ever again. If they can’t provide the service, then they should not add it.

The management of PLAY reached out after the initial article, hence the need for the latest review;

With a positive attitude and integrity, PLAY outlet Osogbo has not only turned the clumsiest past into a gratifying moment, but has also proven themselves to be the best.

Sequel to the review that was rolled out on our platform concerning my experience at the store, the management of the Store wore the armor of courage and humility, contacted us, and made plans for immediate actions to be taken concerning the broken screen

While that remained astonishing, the plethora apologies that was tendered by their workers when I got to the store was breathtaking. Each of them sacrificed their pride for the common good – which is to deliver quality service to the people of Osun.

Although mistakes sometimes could be inevitable, the ability and readiness to make amends is key to quick growth. PLAY knew this, and rather than ruining their apology with an excuse, they accepted their wrongs and proceeded with fixing the broken screen.

On the third day, I received the phone fixed and neat – trust me, PLAY is ready to take over!

As it stands, if you are looking for the best Phone store that would not Play with your satisfaction in Osogbo and Ile-Ife, that is PLAY outlet. With a friendly atmosphere and a promise of assurance, the workers are always ready to guide you through the best phone selections of your choice. If you don’t want to be played, get it at PLAY.
