Residents of Oke Eran, Oke Ima, Temidire, Iludun, Fiwasaye, Olorunsogo, Surulere and Olaniyan Estate in Ilobu, Irepodun Local Government Area of Osun State, have cried out over the deplorable state of the road linking their communities.
It was gathered that the road, which serves as a major link for thousands of residents, has become almost impassable, with large gullies and potholes taking over several portions.
According to the residents, the bridge connecting the communities is on the verge of total collapse following persistent flooding in the area.
One of the residents, Mr. Muftau Adebayo, who resides in Oke Ima, lamented that the road has brought untold hardship to the people.
Adebayo said, “This road is very important to us, but it has become a nightmare. Our vehicles break down almost every day, and during the rainy season, we cannot move freely. The bridge is already collapsing; we are afraid it can cut off any moment.
“We are appealing to Governor Ademola Adeleke to come to our aid. If any heavy rain falls now, the bridge will be completely cut off, and we will be trapped.”
