The Senatorial Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Osun Central, Arch. Goke Omigbodun, has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration of neglecting communities in Osun Central through lopsided development.
Featuring on the Yoruba programme, Bojurinju on Agogo FM, Osogbo, on Monday, Omigbodun said the state government’s much-publicised flyover projects have not translated to overall road improvement.
“They always boast of constructing flyovers. Go and check all the roads that surround the flyovers; are all the roads good?” the SDP candidate, who spoke in Yoruba, queried.
He specifically lamented the deplorable condition of the Eko-Ende and Igbaye roads, urging the government to face reality and prioritise equitable infrastructure development.
“Look at the road that leads to Eko-Ende and Igbaye; they are all in bad shape. We should tell the government the truth. There must be real improvement in the second term,” he said.
Omigbodun further alleged that both projects and key appointments have been concentrated in Ede, the governor’s hometown, to the disadvantage of other zones.
“Ede is not the only town in Osun State. All the roads that lead to Ede are dual carriageways. They also put Ede indigenes in positions across the state. They should share this equally,” he added.
