The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, has led some members of the Assembly on a visit to the Convener of the City Boy Movement, Mr. Seyi Tinubu, at the movement’s headquarters in Abuja.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Egbedun said the visit was an opportunity to formally express his heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his team for the confidence reposed in him through his appointment as Deputy Director, Youth Mobilisation, for the President’s re-election campaign in the South-West.
According to him, “I do not take this responsibility for granted. I deeply appreciate the trust placed in me and recognise the significance of the assignment, particularly in harnessing the energy, ideas and aspirations of young people towards meaningful political participation.”
He noted that the engagement went beyond an expression of appreciation, saying it reinforced the importance of building strong relationships, fostering purposeful dialogue and creating effective channels through which young people can connect with leadership and contribute to decisions that shape the direction of society.
“I remain committed to discharging this responsibility with dedication, sincerity and a clear sense of purpose. Working alongside other stakeholders, I look forward to strengthening youth mobilisation, encouraging constructive political engagement and advancing initiatives that position young people not merely as participants in the political process, but as active contributors to leadership, governance and nation-building.
“The future demands collaboration, inclusive leadership and a deliberate commitment to giving young people a meaningful stake in our collective progress. I look forward to being part of that effort,” Egbedun stated.
