2027: Reject politicians who disappear after elections – Olajengbesi urges voters

The Accord Party candidate for Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, has urged voters to reject politicians who abandon their constituents after winning elections, only to return when another poll approaches.

A statement by the spokesperson of his campaign council, Sodiq Lawal, said the Accord candidate spoke during a familiarisation visit to Otan-Ile and Imesi-Ile, where he intensified mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Olajengbesi noted that votes of the people determine the political trajectory of any politician, stressing that elected representatives must remain accountable to the electorate and appreciate those who worked for their victory.

He expressed satisfaction with the mobilisation efforts of his supporters, leaders and members of his party, which he said produced an impressive outcome in the August 2026 governorship election.

He commended the people of Otan-Ile for their massive turnout and support for Governor Ademola Adeleke during the last governorship election in Osun State.

The candidate urged them to sustain the same level of political participation and mobilisation in the 2027 general elections, emphasising the importance of collective action in determining the future of the constituency.

He also called for sustained engagement between political leaders and the electorate, noting that the relationship between voters and their representatives should extend beyond election periods.
