The member representing Irepodun/Orolu/Olorunda/Osogbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adewale Adebayo , has visited communities affected by the recent flooding in Osogbo to assess the extent of damage.
The lawmaker, who visited alongside officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA) and the State Ministry of Environment, empathised with residents whose homes and livelihoods were affected.
Adebayo sympathised with the affected families and assured them of immediate support, disclosing plans to engage relevant agencies towards securing relief materials and other forms of assistance.
He also pledged to raise the matter at the next plenary of the House of Representatives to seek legislative intervention on relief and measures to reduce the recurrence of flooding in the area.
Communities visited include Abere-Oke, Surulere, Ajangboro, Oke-Odo, Irewole, Ile-Aanu, Orelope, Odofin, Oke-Arungbo, Baruwa, Aroko, Osaara community around Fountain University, Omigade, Koledowo and Ibu-Amon, among others.
The lawmaker assured residents that their concerns would not be left unattended as efforts continue to secure appropriate intervention.
