Adeleke charges new UNIOSUN Governing Council to collaborate with management

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has urged the newly inaugurated Governing Council of Osun State University, to work in harmony with the University Management to advance the institution’s growth and global ranking.

The Governor gave the charge on Monday during the inauguration of the reconstituted council at the Government House, Osogbo.

Adeleke described the event as a renewal of trust and a reaffirmation of our commitment to the future of Osun State University.

He called on all external members of Council to collaborate with the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Professor Adewale Abiodun Oladipo, whom he retained to ensure continuity.

“All external members of Council, representing strategic academic, social and geopolitical considerations, should therefore collaborate and work together with him to further propel the University in excellence and global ranking. In your tenure, the continued peace and progress of UNIOSUN are not negotiable,” the Governor said.

Adeleke explained that the decision to dissolve and immediately reconstitute the Council was taken in the larger interest of the University and the state in general to strengthen governance and prevent any vacuum.

He emphasised that the Pro-Chancellor speaks for him as Visitor to the University.

“I need to state emphatically that the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council is representing me as the Visitor to the University and Executive Governor of Osun State. His views and positions on issues are those of the Visitor,” he said.
