The Owa Obokun and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, has commended the Adeleke family of Ede for their contributions to the development of Osun State, describing them as a formidable force whose impact is praiseworthy.
Oba Haastrup gave the commendation on Saturday during a thank-you visit by Governor Ademola Adeleke to his palace in Ilesa, where the governor presented his Certificate of Return to the monarch.
Oba Haastrup noted the unwavering support the Adeleke family has shown the governor in his second-term bid, stressing that the dynasty remains united and resolute.
“The Adeleke family has continued to stand firmly behind their own, and that unity is worthy of commendation,” the Owa Obokun said.
“Your contributions to the growth and development of Osun State are truly noteworthy.”
The monarch also applauded Governor Adeleke for commissioning several projects across the state in the days leading up to the August 15 governorship election.
In what he described as a reminder in the spirit of Oliver Twist, Oba Haastrup urged the governor to remember his campaign promises to Ijesaland as he begins his second term.
He further expressed goodwill towards the governor’s re-election and encouraged him to demonstrate humility while prioritising the regional agenda ahead of 2027.
Earlier in his remarks, Governor Adeleke attributed his victory to divine providence, the support of the people of Osun State, and lovers of democracy across the world.
