The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, has said Governor Ademola Adeleke should brace for defeat in the forthcoming Osun governorship election, declaring that his endorsement of President Bola Tinubu will not save the PDP administration.
Oyetola, who spoke in Osun on Saturday while addressing APC supporters, was reacting to the governor’s allegations that APC members and Accord Party leaders were being intimidated ahead of Saturday’s poll.
Speaking in Yoruba, Oyetola said Adeleke’s complaints showed the governor had realised he was losing control of the state.
“He almost cried while claiming to have endorsed us. But endorsement cannot retain this seat for you. We are taking it over,” the minister said.
“If you like, make 10 endorsements; we will collect this one from you.”
The former governor also dismissed Adeleke’s frequent mention of his name at public events, noting that the governor brings him up even in unrelated matters.
“If he sleeps and has nightmares, he will say he saw me. If his wife gave him food late, he would say I’m responsible for that. My name is so sweet in his mouth.
“Meanwhile, we are not even interested in his case. If we get interested in his case, he will feel it,” he said.
