The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the August 15 election in Osun State, Mr Bola Oyebamiji, has mourned the death of the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC, Dr. Isiaka Owoade.
Dr Owoade was a former Special Adviser on Lands to former Governor Rauf Aregbesola. He reportedly died in London after a brief illness.
Oyebamiji expressed sadness over the demise and described the deceased as a ‘man of honour, integrity and Omoluabi par excellence’
In a statement personally signed and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the APC gubernatorial candidate acknowledged the immense contributions of the deceased to the advancement of the party and humanity in general.
“I received the sudden death of my dearest brother Chief (Dr) Isiaka Owoade (The Babalaje of Ikireland) with profound shock and deep sadness this morning. Dr Owoade was a proud son of Ikireland and a man of remarkable character, integrity and commitment. He was a thoroughbred professional, a community-minded patriot and a man who devoted his life to the advancement of his family, Ikireland and the larger society.
“As a committed member of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Owoade was a dependable party man, a passionate mobiliser and a strong supporter of the AMBO Project. His contributions to the growth of our party and his unwavering commitment to our collective aspiration for a prosperous Osun will remain indelible.
“His sudden departure is a painful loss not only to his immediate family, but also to the people of Ikireland, the progressive family in Osun State and all of us who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
“At this moment of grief, my thoughts and prayers are with his immediate family, the people of Ikireland and the entire Osun State APC family. I pray that Almighty God will grant all of us the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“May Almighty God forgive the shortcomings of Dr Isiaka Owoade, grant him eternal rest and give his family and loved ones the strength to cope with this painful loss”, Oyebamiji mourned.
