The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has mourned the death of one of its chieftains, Pharmacist Israel Ademola Oyagbile, who passed away at the age of 80.
A statement issued on Sunday by the party’s spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, said the deceased died on Friday in Osogbo after a protracted illness.
Barrister Seyi Oyagbile, the eldest son of the deceased, confirmed the passing of his father to the party leadership.
The late Pa Oyagbile hailed from Ward 4, Eekoosin town in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State. He was a close associate of Pharmacist Prince Felix Awofisayo.
The party recalled that the late pharmacist was active in the struggle to dislodge what it described as “reactionary political forces” in Osun during the 2007 general elections.
The APC State Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, described the death as a monumental loss to the party, noting that Oyagbile’s replacement would be difficult to fill.
Lawal said Pa Oyagbile was one of the party elders who was not afraid to speak truth to power, regardless of whose interests were affected.
He commiserated with the biological and political families of the deceased and prayed to God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
The deceased is survived by two wives and many children, including Barrister Oluwaseyi Oyagbile, a prominent lawyer in Osun and Lagos states.
Burial arrangements have been fixed for August 29, 2026, in Eekoosin, Odo-Otin LGA.
