The Alubarika Movement, a political group loyal to the national secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ajibola Basiru, has announced the immediate suspension of its Ward Coordinator for Ward 7, Odo-Otin Local Government Area, over acts of gross misconduct and flagrant disregard for the directives of the movement leadership.
A statement on Monday by the chairman of Alubarika Movement, Alhaji Kehinde Olamolu, said the disciplinary action follows credible reports that the suspended coordinator persistently pressured one of the beneficiaries of the recent empowerment programme of the group to surrender a portion of the ₦200,000 grants for personal benefit.
osun.life reports that 332 people across the political wards in Osun State got ₦200,000 each as a grant to support and strengthen their business.
Speaking during the event last week, Basiru said under no circumstance should any official or member of the Movement demand, request, or receive any part of such assistance.
Olamolu, in the statement, noted that before the disbursement of the empowerment grants, the leadership had expressly directed all state, local government, ward, and unit officials not to interfere with, intimidate, or place any form of financial demand on beneficiaries.
“Any individual found violating this directive undermines the core values of integrity, accountability, and selfless service upon which the Movement is founded,” he stated.
Olamolu added, “This suspension takes immediate effect pending the conclusion of further disciplinary procedures. The Movement remains committed to protecting the interests of all beneficiaries and maintaining the highest ethical standards across its structures.
“Members and beneficiaries are encouraged to promptly report any form of misconduct, extortion, or abuse of office to the appropriate leadership for immediate action.”
