Mr Jamiu Olawumi, a former Special Adviser on Education to ex-Governor Gboyega Oyetola, has stated that Governor Ademola Adeleke will defeat the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the August 15 gubernatorial election in Osun State, Mr Bola Oyebamiji.
This was as he claimed that Oyetola, who was defeated as an incumbent governor by Adeleke, chose Oyebamiji as a proxy over fear of another electoral loss.
osun.life reports that Olawumi, alongside other loyalists of former National Secretary of the APC, Senator Iyiola Omisore, officially defected to the Accord Party on Tuesday.
Speaking during a private radio programme in Osogbo on Thursday, said, “Adeleke defeated APC in Osun West in 2017. In 2018, he won Oyetola at the first ballot. He also defeated us in 2022 with over 28,000 votes.
“Even if Oyetola was fascinated to become governor again, the fear of a fourth defeat stares him in the face, so he might be looking for a proxy, and he got one in AMBO, and Adeleke will also crush him.
“Adeleke has become a nightmare for Osun APC.”
