Osun road accident claims four lives, 10 injured

The Federal Road Safety Corps has confirmed the death of four persons have been confirmed dead while ten others sustained injuries in a road accident which occurred on Thursday night at Omi-Asoro junction in Ilesa, Osun State.

The incident which occurred around 9 p.m. involved a Toyota Hiace commercial vehicle and a Suzuki mini-bus.

The sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Osun Command, Sunday Adebayo, through the Sector Public Education Officer, Agnes Ogungbemi, said the three passengers, including a child, died instantly while another person died on Friday morning.

Ogungbemi said the deceased bodies have been deposited at the mortuary while the injured are receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

Ogungbemi said, “Four people died while ten sustained injuries. Three of the victims, two male adults and a female child, died instantly while another person died this morning. The deceased have been taken to Wesley Hospital.

“The injured include seven adults and three children. The accident involved a Toyota Hiace commercial vehicle and a Suzuki commercial mini-bus. The driver of the mini-bus had no driver’s licence.”
