Front line leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State have congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari over his victory at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal had on Wednesday in a unanimous judgment dismissed the petition by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in its entirety for lacking merit.

Leading the pack of the President’s well-wishers in the State was the immediate past Governor of Osun State and Interior Minister, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Aregebsola in a statement on Thursday through his twitter handle @raufaregbesola, said the judgment truly reflects the hopes and aspirations of the majority and a victory for the people.

In his words, the minister of interior said, I congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari (@MBuhari) on the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal affirming his second term election victory. The judgment truly reflects the hopes and aspirations of the majority. A victory for the people”, he concluded.

On his own part, the Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyeyola, in a press statement released to newsmen on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, while congratulating the President, commended the judiciary for their resilience in deepening the countries through their sound judgment.

He said now that the legal tussle that accompanied the February 23 Presidential election is over, the President will be focused and deliver good governance to Nigerians.

In his words, Oyetola said, “With this judgment, Mr. President will remain focused on the delivery of good governance to Nigerians. It is my hope that the verdict will put an end to the needless bickering, distractions, and provocation that greeted the election.

“I congratulate the leadership and all members of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) for this victory”, he concluded.

In the same vein, the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters, Senator Babajide Omoworare, described the judgment as a triumph of truth and victory for democracy.

The Presidential aide said the unanimous judgment of the five-man presidential panel affirming the president’s election didn’t come to him as a surprise because the people overwhelmingly voted for the President with enthusiasm as a result of confidence they have in him to rework Nigeria for all and sundry.

He urged Nigerians to give more support to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Government of the APC in the drive to make Nigeria work for Nigerians by meeting the yearnings and aspiration of all and sundry.

The Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Senator Ajibola Basiru while congratulating the president described the presidential election petition tribunal judgment pronouncement as a big boost for democracy.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Diaspora and Non-governmental organisations who made this known via his Twitter handle @DrSRJ said the judgment has confirmed the President second term as expressed through the ballot by majority of Nigerians at the last February presidential election.

In his words, the Senator said,”I congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari on this judgment confirming his second term as determined by the majority of Nigerians. I also rejoice with our party leaders and all members of APC. The court’s pronouncement is a big boost for democracy”, he concluded.

The Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District, Senator Adelere Oriolowo in his own remarks described the tribunal judgement as an affirmation of the lawful majority votes Nigerians gave to President Buhari during the election.

He said “I received with great enthusiasm the judgment of the Presidential tribunal, it was quite clear from the onset that the petition lacks merit but seeing the process through is a good one for our democracy.”

“I wholeheartedly congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari, the leadership and members of our great party, the All Progressives Congress on this victory.”

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye said the Tribunal’s judgment has vindicated all lovers of democracy who believes in democratic principles as the only legitimate way to seek power.

He commended the panel members for a thorough job and hardwork which reflected in their historic judgment.
