A chieftain of the Accord Party in Osun State, Aremo Adekunle Adegboyega Alao, has resigned his appointment as the Federal Commissioner for the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) to contest the Osun Central Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
Alao will be contesting the ticket of the party against a former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Lasun Yussuff and the state Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa.
Meanwhile, Alao has been consulting with stakeholders and party leadership in Osun Central over his ambition.
According to a statement by his media team, the former PCC Commissioner had rounded off his consultations with a meeting with party members and stakeholders in Olorunda Local Government.
According to the statement, Alao during the meeting, emphasised his commitment to delivering people-centred representation, promoting inclusive governance, and driving accelerated socio-economic development across all ten local government areas within the district.
He noted that his decision to join the race is driven by genuine concern over the limited impact of democratic governance in several communities, stressing the urgent need for responsive leadership that bridges the gap between government policies and the everyday realities of the people.
