Adeniji Picks Osun PDP Guber Form, Promises 5-Point Agenda

Former chairman of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and long-standing politician, Engineer (Dr.) Jide Adeniji has joined the ongoing race for the Osun State gubernatorial election coming up on September this year as he picked his nomination form few hours before the expiration of deadline.

Adeniji, who said he is on a mission to rescue the state from wicked leadership, is contesting under the umbrella of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

Accompanied by his wife, daughter and aides, Adeniji, who addressed newsmen shortly after picking his nomination form in Abuja, said he was bringing his over 28 years of untainted public service to the table, even as he deplored the present state of governance in the state.

“What Osun State is owing as debts cannot be repaid in the next 25 years,” he said, regretting that there is nothing to show for this.

He added: “In spite of all these, Osun State is the only state where the payment of half salaries to civil servants has been the order of the day for several months.”

How he intends to settle the outstanding salary arrears, he said this remains one of his jokers that he won’t let out of the bag for his opponent to steal.

“As poor as that state appears to be, I will run it without borrowing a kobo from any quarters.”

He promised to give significant attention to security in the state ranging from safety of lives and properties, food security, social security to job security. Dr. Adeniji, a civil engineer, said as a grass root politician, he is very much on ground in the state and expressed confidence about the popularity of his candidacy if he gets the ticket of his party.

Adeniji said his five point agenda is tagged ‘SHARE’ meaning –Security, Housing, Agriculture, Rural Infrastructure and Education.
