The Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, has said the huge infrastructural development of the Governor Rauf Aregbesola administration has spoken for him.
He said if All Progressives Congress (APC) played by the rules and listens to elders’ advice, victory in the election would be guaranteed.
The monarch noted that only God has the final say in who governs Osun State after Aregbesola, “but with prayers, anything can happen.”
He spoke when the governor visited him as part of his meeting with APC members in Ilesa.
Oba Aromolaran urged politicians to stop maligning one another.
He hailed Aregbesola for infrastructural development, noting that his administration should ensure more is done in Ijesaland.
“The governor has done well for Osun State. He deserves commendation. Aregbesola has performed, especially in areas, such as roads and school infrastructure.
“His achievements have spoken for him. Concerning the governorship election on September 22, I want us to understand that it is God that chooses a leader. But with prayers, our desires will be granted.
“We, in Ijesaland hail Aregbesola for his achievements. But I want to use this medium to appeal to the present administration to do more for us.
“As we are pledging our support to the governor, I advise politicians in Osun State and Nigeria to eschew bitterness,” the traditional ruler said.
Aregbesola said he and his team visited to sensitize APC members on the election.
He said since the state was created, no government had achieved what his administration did.
The governor noted that continuity in government is not for himself, but for the state.
Thanking God for liberating the state through APC, he said residents should not allow the opposition take over again.
