Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Osun West Senatorial District have begun moves to reconcile aggrieved members and resolve internal disagreements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party’s district chairman, Akintola Omolaoye, convened the meeting on Thursday alongside the senatorial district candidate, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, Senator Mudasiru Hussein, and other leaders.
The meeting was part of efforts to strengthen unity and mobilise two million votes for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
Speaking at the meeting, Omolaoye said internal divisions could undermine the APC’s electoral fortunes if left unresolved.
He urged aggrieved members to set aside personal interests and work together for the success of the party.
The APC chieftain said the meeting was also to strategise and ensure victory for all the party’s candidates in the presidential, senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly elections.
“Today we are holding our stakeholders meeting, not only that, particularly to fast-track all activities for the upcoming elections, especially for the early election of President Tinubu under the state coordinator, Ademola Adeleke.
“Also to fashion out ways and means to ensure that other candidates of our party, with respect to senatorial seats, House of Representatives seats, House of Assembly seats, and constituency seats, are won under the platform of APC in Osun State, especially in Osun West Senatorial District.
“This is our take in today’s meeting, to ensure that stakeholders in the party are on the same page and align together for victory in the coming election,” he added.
Omolaoye declared that the APC would do all it takes to deliver over two million votes, noting that mobilising stakeholders to work hard towards the target was one of the purposes of the meeting.
Similarly, Dr Ogunbiyi said all stakeholders are working for the success of the Presidential Campaign Council, along with the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, who declared his support for President Tinubu.
“We are ready to work to ensure the success of the President, and to support the campaign council for the president under Governor Ademola Adeleke, because there is a reason why the president selected him, and we do not have any opposition to that,” Ogunbiyi said.
