Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke and the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Ajibola Basiru, have felicitated with the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, on his 72nd birthday anniversary.
Governor Adeleke, in a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, recognised and praised Oyetola’s life journey and God’s blessings in his private and public life.
The governor said birthdays are an occasion for reviewing the past and the present for a new future, commending the former governor for his contributions to state and national development.
While asserting that politics should unite rather than divide, Adeleke noted the new air of rapprochement after the tense August governorship election, adding that the minister’s birthday presents an opportunity for Osun leaders to unite for the growth and development of the state.
“In line with the admonition of our dear President, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Osun leaders are encouraged to build bridges of partnership, collaboration and brotherhood using the birthday of our brother, the former governor, as a pathway to peace, unity and progress for our dear state.
“My beautiful gift for the minister on his birthday is a dove of peace and unity. I felicitate with the leader of APC in Osun State. I rejoice with a minister who is turning around the national blue economy sector. Our state needs him and other leaders to continue to accelerate delivery of democratic dividends and widen the net of good governance.
“In the spirit of oneness and common cause, I join the family and associates of Mr Oyetola to wish him a prosperous and bountiful birthday and more blissful years ahead. Enjoy your day, a great son of Iragbiji, Osun State and Nigeria,” the governor stated.
In his own message, Dr Basiru thanked Allah for granting the celebrant long life with sound health and wished him success as he serves the nation as Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.
Dr Basiru prayed Allah to grant Alhaji Oyetola more prosperous years in abundant health to be able to serve humanity more.
