Salaam hails Osun at 35, urges Adeleke, citizens to prioritise unity, development

The African Democratic Congress governorship candidate in the recently concluded election, Dr Najeem Salaam, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke and the people of Osun State on the 35th anniversary of the state’s creation.

In a statement issued in Osogbo on Thursday, the former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly said the milestone should inspire sober reflection on the values that unite the people.

He extended felicitations to the members of the State Executive Council, the House of Assembly, traditional rulers, public servants, and all Osun indigenes at home and in the diaspora.

“Thirty-five years of statehood is a remarkable journey of history, resilience, cultural richness and collective aspiration. Despite the challenges along the way, the people of Osun have continued to demonstrate courage, enterprise and an unwavering commitment to the development of our State,” Salam said.

The ADC candidate stressed that the progress of the state depends on collective effort and adherence to good governance.

“As we celebrate, let us remember that the strength of Osun lies in its people and our shared heritage. We must continue to promote peace, unity, good governance and inclusive development while preserving the values and traditions that make Osun unique,” he stated.
