Governor Ademola Adeleke has dissolved the Governing Council of Osun State University, UNIOSUN, and immediately reconstituted a new one to strengthen governance at the institution.
A statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said the action was necessary to avoid any leadership vacuum in the university.
According to the statement, Prof. Adewale Oladipo, who chaired the dissolved council, returns as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the new council.
Other members of the reconstituted council are former Deputy Governor, Titi Laoye-Ponle; Alhaji Gbadegesin Lawal; Mr Akinola Franklin Omoniyi; Chief Funminiyi Awotide; Mr Orija Samuel Adebayo; and Mrs Adewale Adetayo Bola.
Governor Adeleke charged the new council to sustain the university’s excellent academic and administrative records, and to support the management in delivering more innovative programmes.
