The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for Osun Central Senatorial District, Mr Kunle Adegoke (SAN), has said his bid for the Senate is to offer more service to the party and people of Osun State.
Adegoke, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, stated this while appearing on Western Television Morning Spring programme.
He said he has been rendering unremunerated legal services to the APC across Nigeria since 2010 when the party took power in Osun State.
“We were able to rescue Osun State from the grip of the PDP for Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. Then, by 2010, we were in power. Since then, I have been rendering services to the party, defending the party, not only in Osun, but across Nigeria.”
The legal luminary said he has handled election petitions for the APC in several states on a pro bono basis.
“Today, I don’t think there is any lawyer that has my record of having rendered so much to the party, unremunerated, across Nigeria, in different states of the country, pro bono services,” Adegoke stated.
“We did so much, including states where I have never gone to, to conduct election petitions for the party,” he added.
He recalled contesting the Osun governorship ticket on the APC platform in 2018 and 2022, but said the party had other considerations at the time.
According to him, party leaders encouraged him to run for Senate in 2026.
“By 2026, when the senatorial thing came, many leaders came to me and said, look, you are a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. If you are in the Senate, you will be able to defend that interest more, considering the fact that I’ve even done a lot for the National Assembly as a consultant,” he said.
Adegoke said he believes the Senate is the best platform for him to render service to Nigeria and to the people of Osun Central.
