Accord has done enough to win – Adeleke’s aide

The Deputy Spokesperson to Osun State Governor, Oladele Bamiji, has disclosed that the Accord Party remains upbeat about the chances of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the upcoming governorship election.

Bamiji, in an interview with The Nation Newspaper, spoke about the Accord Party’s preparedness ahead of the August 15 poll.

When asked if the Accord Party would engage in vote-buying to boost the chances of the Governor, Bamiji said, “No! We are not going to indulge in such electoral fraud. We don’t have to. The governor has done enough to convince the electorate that he is good for them as a political leader, and the people have shown — throughout this period of electioneering — that they appreciate his work. We don’t have to get ourselves into the messy trade of vote-buying; only those who are not popular will get involved in such a desperate venture. We strongly believe in our people’s ability to read between the lines, as they have done so perfectly well so far.”

“Aside from violence, vote-buying is the only thing left for the APC. They are trying to earmark as many billions of naira as possible; it is part of the “federal might” they want to deploy.”
