Osun 2026: Sabo market traders, Hausa community throw weight behind Oyebamiji

Traders and members of the Hausa community at Sabo Market in Osogbo, Osun State capital, have unanimously endorsed the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

The endorsement was made on Thursday at the market square in Sabo area, where Oyebamiji and his entourage received a rousing welcome from market men and women who turned out in large numbers, waving APC banners and chanting solidarity songs.

According to the leaders of both Yoruba and Hausa trading blocs, the decision was based on Oyebamiji’s track record and his commitment to the welfare of traders.

Iyaoloja of Sabo Market, Alhaja Medinat Oladele, led special prayers for the APC candidate.

She prayed that God would grant him victory and the wisdom to lead Osun to prosperity.

Addressing the crowd, Oyebamiji promised that Sabo and other trading centres across the state would feel the impact of government under his administration.

He pledged support for market cooperatives through grants and loans to boost businesses, stressing that “the role of market women and men is key to economic growth in the state.”

The APC candidate also promised to introduce insurance packages for traders to protect their businesses against unforeseen risks.

He further said his government would harness synergy among the Federal, State and Local Governments to drive growth for small, medium and large-scale enterprises in Osun.

Oyebamiji was accompanied by party chieftains, women leaders and youth groups during the visit.
